Per the Burlington Training Center (BTC) Fight Promotion press release, Kyle Prepolec (11-5) will defend his super lightweight championship against Curtis DeMarce (18-14) on March 9th.

The promotions fifth event will be held at the Central Park Athletics in Windsor, Ontario.

At BTC 3, which took place on June 23rd of last year, Prepolec, the Windsor native challenged the current, now former super lightweight champion, Scott Hudson, where he would finished the fight by technical knockout in the second round. Now not only does Prepolec have the opportunity to defend his title, but he’ll get the chance to do so in his home town, he says: “its been a long time since I fought here (Windsor) and I’m really excited to put on a show in front of my family and friends.”

Curtis DeMarce, also known as ‘The Comeback Kid’ is looking to do just that on March 9th. Coming off of a loss, DeMarce will bring 30+ professional fights worth of experience to the table. Challenging for the title, Curtis has no problem entering enemy territory in doing so. “I’ve been brought in to fight the home town guy my whole career. I’m coming to Windsor and leaving the crowd in tears, the belt around my waist.”

Prepolec has seven knockouts, three submissions, while DeMarce has five knockouts with 8 submission victories. Combined, the two bring 20+ finishes to Central Park Athletics. Prepolec’s last submission win was in October of 2014, his last three wins being by knockout or technical KO. In his last victory which was in September of 2017, DeMarce earned his 18th win by submission (guillotine choke) in the second round. Both able to finish the fight on their feet or from the ground, expect a more thought out, technical clash between the two early next month.

Burlington Training Center Fight Promotions is eyeing 12 bouts for their fifth event. The first fight of the evening will start at 7:00pm EST, and tickets are priced from $19.99, on sale now at ticketscene.ca.
