Power Slap Announces Two World Title Fights for Historic European Debut in Serbia

$VET Power Slap 22 Szabo vs. Montes - MMA Fight Coverage

Power Slap is officially bringing championship action to Europe for the first time, as the promotion has announced two world title fights for its landmark event, $VET Power Slap 22: Szabo vs. Montes, presented by Monster Energy, set to take place on Thursday, July 30 at the iconic Belgrade Arena in Belgrade.

The highly anticipated event marks Power Slap’s first-ever European showcase and will feature a historic championship doubleheader, headlined by the inaugural women’s featherweight title bout and a heavyweight championship rematch.

Historic Women’s Featherweight Championship Headlines Event

In the main event, undefeated Hungarian-born judoka and Power Slap pioneer Franciska Szabo, better known as “Sheena Bathory,” will battle Mexico’s undefeated rising star Abby Montes to crown the promotion’s first women’s featherweight champion.

Szabo enters the matchup with an unblemished 5-0 record and two knockouts, already cementing herself as a groundbreaking figure in the organization as the first woman to ever compete in Power Slap. Known for her composure and power, Szabo now has the opportunity to add championship gold to her growing résumé.

Standing opposite her will be Montes, who quickly turned heads after debuting at Power Slap 13 with a devastating single-slap knockout victory. Sporting a perfect 2-0 record with one knockout, the Mexican contender has rapidly emerged as one of the division’s most dangerous competitors, setting the stage for a compelling clash between two of the sport’s brightest stars.

Heavyweight Gold on the Line in Championship Rematch

The co-main event will see undefeated heavyweight champion Damien Dibbell put his title on the line in a rematch against challenger Dorian Perez.

Dibbell, known as “The Bell,” owns a spotless 7-0 record with five knockouts and has held heavyweight gold since establishing himself as champion on May 24, 2023. Having reigned for nearly 1,100 days, Dibbell will revisit unfinished business against Perez following their explosive first meeting at Power Slap 10.

Perez, a former All-State football player, enters the title rematch with an 8-2-1 record and hopes to dethrone the long-reigning champion when the two collide once again with heavyweight gold hanging in the balance.

International Talent Featured on Historic Card

Beyond the championship bouts, Power Slap 22 promises an international showcase of talent, featuring competitors from more than 10 countries competing in front of European fans.

Among the notable names expected to appear is former super heavyweight champion Vasilii Kamotskii, the legendary Russian slap fighter known to fans as “Dumpling.” Also featured are Slovakian knockout artist Peter Truchlik, who has built momentum through destructive finishes, and fellow Slovakian competitor Pavol Horelican, who impressed with a first-round knockout victory in his Power Slap debut.

For many of the athletes competing, the event will offer a rare opportunity to perform in front of hometown crowds as Power Slap expands its footprint across Europe.

Tickets for Power Slap 22 in Belgrade go on sale Friday, May 29, with additional bout announcements expected in the coming weeks. Fans can follow Power Slap’s official channels for updates, exclusive content, and further match announcements ahead of the organization’s historic European debut.
