Canelo Álvarez to Face Terence Crawford in Blockbuster Riyadh Season Showdown September 13 in Las Vegas, Streaming Live Globally on Netflix

Riyadh Season - Netflix.

In what promises to be one of the most anticipated fights in boxing history, pound-for-pound king Saul “Canelo” Álvarez (62-2-2, 39 KOs) will take on undefeated three-division world champion Terence “Bud” Crawford (41-0, 31 KOs) for the unified Super Middleweight Championship on Saturday, September 13 in Las Vegas. The historic bout will stream live globally on Netflix, free to all 300+ million subscribers, marking a monumental shift in the way fans experience major boxing events.

The fight is being staged as part of Riyadh Season, the cultural and entertainment initiative spearheaded by His Excellency Turki Alalshikh, Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority and President of the Saudi Boxing Federation. Alalshikh is joining forces with UFC President Dana White and Saudi events company Sela to deliver what is already being hailed as “the fight of the century.”

A Global Tour for a Global Fight

To build anticipation for the bout, Canelo and Crawford will embark on a three-city international press tour, beginning June 20 in Riyadh, continuing June 22 in New York City at Fanatics Fest, and wrapping up June 27 in Las Vegas—the city where the two icons will ultimately square off.

“On September 13, Canelo and Crawford, two legends of boxing, will finally compete against each other in the fight of the century,” said HE Turki Alalshikh. “Alongside Dana White and Sela, we will deliver something truly incredible in Las Vegas for fans around the world to enjoy through Netflix.”

Dana White Enters the Boxing Arena

Best known for building the UFC into a global powerhouse, Dana White is making his first foray into boxing promotion with a bang.

“Turki wants to make the biggest fights that the fans want to see in boxing, and this is right up my alley,” White said. “Are you kidding me that the first boxing fight I’m going to get to promote is Canelo vs. Crawford? It’s literally a once-in-a-lifetime fight. Two of the GREATEST boxers in the sport will meet in a historic fight from Las Vegas.”

The Fighters Speak

Canelo Álvarez, already a four-division world champion and the face of boxing for over a decade, is ready to add another chapter to his legacy.

“I’m super happy to be making history again, and this time on a Riyadh Season card that will be broadcast on Netflix,” Canelo stated. “On September 13, I’m ready to show once again that I am the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world.”

But Terence Crawford, the only male boxer in the four-belt era to become undisputed champion in two weight divisions, sees this as his crowning moment.

“My perfect record speaks for itself. I am the best fighter in the world and no matter the opponent or weight class, I have always come out on top,” Crawford said. “On September 13, my hand will be raised once again as the world watches greatness.”

With Netflix’s vast reach, the promotional power of Dana White, and the global allure of Riyadh Season, Canelo vs. Crawford is more than a fight—it’s a cultural event, a collision of greatness, and perhaps the biggest boxing spectacle of this generation.
