Carlos Ortiz from MMA Fight Coverage had a Bellator MMA exclusive interview with Nick Newell . Here is some of what Nick had to say:
“He seems pretty well rounded. It seems like he likes the ground more than anything else. Someone told me he plans to stand up with me but we will see what happens. I have watched his last couple fights and he is defiantly good but I feel like with all my training and everything I am doing that I am just going to be one step ahead of him the whole time.
I think that the 155 division is the most talented stacked division in the whole world, no matter what league you go to. If you go to any gym its going to be littered with fighters between 135 and 170 but most people fall into that 155 pound weight class just genetically. So it’s a pretty tough weight class.
We just moved to a huge facility 6,000 square feet and all new mats, huge competition cage: I really optimized every inch of that spot to be for MMA. I am very, very happy with the product I put forward.
Usually I teach pretty often but now that I have a fight coming up I brought on other people that can do everything and I have just given them my classes so I run maybe three classes a week only.”
