Roland Sarria is a vanguard, and pioneer in the state of Arizona for Sport Combat Events since 1997. In addition, Roland has promoted over 1000 Professional and Amateur MMA, Boxing, Kickboxing, Muay Thai, BJJ events.
Roland was born in 1963 in Havana Cuba, he grew up in Southern California. Residing in Culver City, West Los Angeles and Lawndale. He was a high School football stand out at Leuzinger High School. during his senior year he was voted Ocean League Defensive Player of the Year as a nose guard. He also earned recognition in college by making all conference his freshman, and sophomore year. Along with being one of the best defensive nose guards in the country. While at El Camino Junior College, Roland played under the legendary NFL coach Jack Riley.
Roland is a Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. He’s trained with the likes of Rickson Gracie, Ken Gabrielson, Rodrigo Gracie, Henry Akins and Eric Paulson. Roland has also competed against one of the BJJ Legends Fernando Margarita Pontes.
In 1996 Roland open up his first martial art academy, where he trained 21 MMA fighters that have made it to the UFC. Along with hundreds of other MMA fighters, that made it to MMA shows around the world. Some of the UFC fighters that Roland has trained include Joe Riggs, Edwin De Wees, Santino DeFranco, Gilbert Adana, Henry Cejudo, Kyle Kingsbury.
