UFC BJJ returns to Las Vegas on Thursday, May 21, with another action-packed lineup as UFC BJJ 8: Musumeci vs. Dantzler features two championship bouts atop a stacked card.
The event will stream live and free on the UFC BJJ YouTube channel beginning at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT, while public tickets are available now through AXS.com.
Musumeci Defends Bantamweight Gold in Main Event
In the evening’s main event, reigning bantamweight champion Mikey Musumeci looks to continue his dominant run when he meets dangerous challenger Kevin Dantzler.
Musumeci enters with a perfect 3-0 UFC BJJ record, all by submission, and has not lost in nearly five years. Competing out of Las Vegas, the grappling superstar has already submitted Shay Montague, Keven Carrasco, and Rerisson Gabriel inside the UFC BJJ Bowl. Now, he aims to add another statement victory to his already legendary résumé.
Standing across from him will be Dantzler, a leglock specialist making his UFC BJJ debut. Fighting out of Sicklerville, New Jersey, Dantzler has built a reputation for aggressive offense and owns notable grappling victories over former UFC champions Merab Dvalishvili and Aljamain Sterling. He now gets the biggest opportunity of his career with a chance to shock the world.
Women’s Bantamweight Title on the Line in Co-Main Event
The co-main event sees newly crowned women’s bantamweight champion Cassia Moura return quickly for her first title defense against decorated Brazilian standout Bianca Basilio.
Moura, who trains out of Midland, Texas by way of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, captured the title just over a month ago and has quickly established herself as one of the division’s rising stars. She owns victories over Ffion Davies, Alex Enriquez, and Talita Alencar.
Basilio makes her UFC BJJ debut with one of the most impressive résumés in the sport. A multiple-time world champion through the colored belt ranks, Basilio later added several IBJJF black belt world titles and an ADCC world championship in 2019. She now looks to hand Moura her first loss and leave Las Vegas with UFC gold.
