NEW YORK, NY – April 9, 2025 — One of the most anticipated trilogy fights in boxing history is officially on. Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) and Netflix have announced that Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano 3 will headline the first-ever all-women’s professional boxing card at Madison Square Garden on Friday, July 11, streaming live globally and exclusively on Netflix.
The press conference, hosted at The Theater at MSG by renowned combat sports journalist Ariel Helwani, brought together the stars of the event. The lineup featured not only Taylor and Serrano, but co-main event contenders Alycia “The Bomb” Baumgardner and Jennifer Miranda, as well as Ellie Scotney, Yamileth Mercado, Dina Thorslund, Shurretta Metcalf, Tamm Thibeault, and Mary Casamassa—all poised to shine on boxing’s biggest stage.
A Historic Trilogy with Unfinished Business
Ireland’s Katie Taylor (24-1, 6 KOs) and Puerto Rican superstar Amanda Serrano (47-3-1, 31 KOs) will collide for the third time in what promises to be a defining moment in both their legendary careers. With the series currently at 2-0 in Taylor’s favor, Serrano made it clear this bout is her redemption arc.
“This is called unfinished business for a reason,” Serrano stated passionately. “Come July 11th, I will finish that business.”
Taylor responded confidently, reminding the press she has already proven herself in the ring.
“I am 2-0 here and I’m in the driver’s seat,” Taylor said. “Amanda needs this fight a lot more than I do.”
The fight, which will not be contested under 12 three-minute rounds after negotiations failed to include the WBC title, still carries massive weight. Serrano expressed frustration with the decision, standing firm on her belief that female fighters deserve the same platform and format as their male counterparts.
“I believe women should get the recognition and the equality that the men get,” Serrano declared. “I had to give up one of my babies [WBC title], but I stood on my beliefs.”
Baumgardner vs. Miranda: Co-Main Event With World Title Implications
In the co-main event, MVP’s Alycia Baumgardner (15-1, 7 KOs) will put her undisputed super featherweight titles on the line against Spain’s undefeated Jennifer Miranda (12-0, 1 KO). This 10-round championship showdown adds even more fire to a card stacked with elite talent.
“Amanda and Katie have proven more than once why women belong,” said Baumgardner. “We will continue breaking barriers.”
Miranda, one of MVP’s newest signees, made her intentions crystal clear.
“She’s a grand champion, but now it’s my turn,” Miranda said. “I’m going for it—all those belts.”
